Kenneth A. Megill is Senior Staff Systems Analyst at Dynamics Research Corporation leading a team evaluating the information environment of the US Air Force acquisitions and sustainment, to further the establishment of an integrated digital environment. Previously, he was on the faculty of the School of Library and Information Science at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC and was Director of its Information Resources Management Program. Prior to joining the faculty he was records manager at the Office of the Controller of Currency, a federal agency that serves as the administrator of national banks. In 1995, along with a number of information professionals who are or were working for the federal government, he published Making the Information Revolution: a handbook for federal information resources management. Megill holds a PhD in philosophy from Yale University and studied and worked in Germany and Hungary where he authored a number of professional articles in philosophy and political theory. He is a Certified Records Manager and a Certified Architect.
Herbert F. Schantz is the founder and president of HLS Associates International headquartered in Sterling, Virginia. HLS Associates is an 11 year old internationally acclaimed professional consulting practice focused primarily on the application of imaging (OCR) and information technologies to automate business work processing, and document management applications. He is founder and director of the Association for Work Process Improvement (TAWPI). Schantz is a graduate of Drexel University with a masters degree in Management Sciences and a Bs in Mechanical Engineering. He is a registered Professional Engineer. He has published numerous articles, papers and books on the information and electronic management technologies that make optical character recognition possible. He has served on the Board of Directors of several high technology corporations.
